Talent guide
Language ability is an advantage, not something to fake.
Understand when Japanese ability helps, when production direction may be translated and why honesty about language matters.

Different roles require different communication
Runway direction may be demonstrated visually, while promotional, hospitality or performance work can require more sustained communication. Requirements belong to the specific assignment.
Prepare practical vocabulary
Names, times, measurements, wardrobe instructions, directions and polite clarification phrases can reduce confusion even when a production provides translation.
Do not hide limitations
Claiming fluency creates safety and performance problems. Accurate language information allows a producer to decide whether interpretation or bilingual support is needed.
Practical checklist
- State your actual level
- Keep addresses and schedules in writing
- Confirm important terms
